At the end of each year Survivors Fund (SURF) launches an appeal to raise funds for one of our priority programmes, which this year is a call for funding to support our programme of sponsorship for young survivors at university. You can download the appeal here:
I am proud to announce that the appeal has started well with a commitment of £10,000 from the Charities Advisory Trust towards the programme raised through its Good Gifts Catalogue and its Charity Christmas cards initiative, Card Aid. A feature on the initiative was featured on the BBC1 programme, Rip Off Britain – available online for UK users on the BBC iplayer (starting at 8:18).
The SURF 2011 Appeal features the speech given by Charles Gashumba, an orphaned survivor who has been sponsored through university with the support of SURF (through donors such as yourself) and is now working in banking and supporting the education of his brothers and sisters.
With your help, we can support many more survivors like Charles, so please do consider a donation. The easiest way to give is by clicking the button below:
We thank you in advance for your continuing support, without which Survivors Fund (SURF) could not continue to deliver our work to support survivors of the genocide in Rwanda to rebuild their lives.
May we wish you a restful festive season, and a happy and healthy year ahead!
