Today marks the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda and the start of the 100-day commemoration in Rwanda which runs through to July.
25 years on from the genocide, it is as important than ever to remember the victims of the genocide, as well as the survivors still in need of support today.
Survivors Fund (SURF) is launching a campaign #25forSurvivors calling on members of the the international community to make a donation of 25 pounds, dollars or euros to provide the ongoing support still required by survivors 25 years on from the genocide. So please do consider making a donation, and to help call on others to do so too. You can use the following tweet/post to do so:
25 Years On we remember the victims and survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Please consider a donation to http://survivors-fund.org.uk/donate and RT in solidarity. Your support really can make a difference! #25forSurvivors #Rwanda
To mark the anniversary we are making available our new film, Twenty Five Years On, which tells the story of survivors of the genocide, Survivors Fund (SURF) and the local survivor-led organisations in Rwanda with which we partner. A series of clips from the film are now available through our vimeo page which can be viewed as well here:
