We are proud to confirm details of the screening of our new film, 25 Years On, which will be at Rich Mix on 11am, Sunday 7th April, the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Tickets are free and are now available at eventbrite. So we hope those in London will be able to join us then.
It is now twenty-five years on from the genocide, in which more than one million Tutsi and moderate Hutu were killed in just one hundred days between April and July 1994. Since that time many survivors have overcome great obstacles. Though there are many challenges they still face. 25 Years On is their story, and the story of Survivors Fund and our local partner organisations, which, with your support, are making a real difference in their lives.
The film is directed by Andrew Sutton of Central Studios, and features the stories of survivors including Daphrose, as well as groups we support including Iwacu Productions and Abishizehamwe.
We will be making the film available through our vimeo channel, so if you are unable to attend the screening in person there will still be an opportunity to view it. As well, for anyone organising a local event there will be various versions of the film that can be downloaded and streamed as well. Please email us for details.
