Survivors Fund (SURF) Trustee, Philomène Uwamaliya, along with the the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Centre for War and Peace Studies at Liverpool Hope University, and the Merseyside Rwandan Community, organised this year’s Kwibuka 31 event in Liverpool to mark the Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda – with a theme of Remembering for the Future.

Amongst others, the event was attended by His Excellency Johnston Busingye, High Commissioner of Rwanda to the UK, Councillor Richard Kemp, Lord Mayor of Liverpool, as well as Survivors Fund (SURF) Treasurer, Adrian Veale, who shared information about the work that we continue to undertake to support Survivors of the the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
