SURF’s remarkable photographer

Drew

SURF is incredibly fortunate to have a number of remarkable supporters. Amongst them is Andrew (Drew) Sutton, who for nearly ten years has helped us to record the stories of survivors in Rwanda through film and photography – giving tirelessly and freely of his time to travel to Rwanda to profile SURF’s work and the situation of survivors.

Drew

Without Drew’s support, SURF would be much the poorer – and the cause of survivors would be less known. An example of his work can be seen in the testimony of Daphrose Mukangarambe – one of the widowed survivors that SURF continues to support through our partner AVEGA (Association of Widows of the Genocide).

Later this year, SURF will be staging an exhibition at the London School of Economics (LSE) of Heroes Of Our Time – featuring a selection of Drew’s portraits of survivors. So please do sign up to our mailing list, to be kept updated of these plans, as well as other opportunities to support survivors of the Rwandan genocide.
