In the lead up to the anniversary of the genocide in April, SURF is involved in a number of initiatives.

On Tuesday 29th March, SURF is organising a memorial ceremony to commemorate the 17th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide in association with the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Great Lakes Region of Africa. For further information, and details of how to attend, please click here.

Survivors Fund (SURF) will also be supporting the commemoration being organised by Hope Survivors Foundation at the London Oratory School on Saturday 9th April. Further information on that event will be posted here in due course.

At the European Parliament in Brussels, there is to be a symposium on international justice for Tutsi survivors of the Rwandan genocide on 29th March, followed by the annual commemoration organised by IBUKA-Europe on 7th April. Jürgen Schurr from Redress will be amongst the speakers at the symposium. Redress is currently working with Survivors Fund (SURF) on a project assessing avenues for legal redress for survivors.

Finally, I am currently in training for My Rwanda Challenge in which I will be running two marathons in two weeks (in London then in Rwanda). I am currently raising funding for SURF, so please do sponsor me here!

Thank you.
